Summer Science Exhibits on Tour at Eden Festival

The Royal Society is pleased to support Summer Science Exhibit UV or not UV (2024) at Eden Festival.

On Saturday 13 June, from 12pm - 2pm, Eden Explores features 'Light lab: How much do you really know about UV light?', run by former exhibitors at the Summer Science Exhibition. Join researchers from the uCare project based at the University of Edinburgh to get hands-on with UV light and explore how it's being developed to treat tumours, help bees, and even do laser brain surgery. Followed by clothing and body painting ahead of a UV party in the Bodega after dark.

Then on Sunday 14 June, join Professor Rob Thomson for his 'Fantastic light and incredible industries' talk and Q&A from 4pm - 5pm. A story of state-of-the-art light-based tech, from camera sensitive to a single photon of light to new laser surgery techniques, and fibre sensors that detect lung disease.
